==Geography==
The township is located in southern Bedford County in the Cumberland Valley, a narrow Appalachian valley bounded by Wills Mountain to the west and Evitts Mountain to the east. Evitts Creek, a tributary of the North Branch Potomac River, flows southwards through the valley, and U.S. Route 220 runs through the center of the valley as well.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.98%, is water.〔
